What do you mean "joke union"?! There was absolutley nothing funny about it! We took our beer drinking very seriously! I still have my shirt! It's a little worse for wear and tear but it ages well.
Wish I could make it for the Oscar party. The debates about the awards (and what should have been nominated in the first place) will be great!
If you hear a big groan at the end of the ceremonies it may be me lamenting that the movie about the cowboys "on the downlow" won Best Picture. So far it looks like "Crash" may provide an upset in that area.
I'm curious...was I the only person who wanted to see Terry McMillan write a review of "Brokeback Mountain? For those who don't know...Terry McMillan of "Waiting To Exhale" fame wrote the book "How Stella Got Her Groove Back" which later became a movie. The book was a fictionalized version of her experience going to the Caribbean and finding a young man. She eventually brought him back the US and married him. Last year it was revealed that her husband was secretly bisexual and living "on the downlow". Needless to say she wasn't happy about her man getting his back broken by another man and divorced him. After seeing a few positive reviews of "BM" I really wanted to read a review by Ms. McMillan to see how wonderful she thought this twist on the Western genre was.
